Calling all coffee lovers!

October continues to be a busy time here at the YWCA, and we’re so grateful for all that our community does to support us. One such recent example (among many) of the generosity of the people in Fargo-Moorhead came to us from Caribou Coffee, located in the Osgood Hornbacher’s.

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Caribou Coffee across the nation is donating 10% of sales from their Amy’s Blend coffee to cancer research through CancerCare.  The signature blend is a tribute to Amy Erickson, a beloved Caribou Coffee Roastmaster who lost her battle with breast cancer in 1995 at the age of 33.  The Caribou Coffee in the Osgood Hornbacher’s, located at 4151 45th Street South in Fargo, is also going a step further to give back with their coffee sales.

Not only are 10% of their sales from Amy’s Blend coffee going to CancerCare, but they’ve also set up a donation basket for individuals to buy pounds of high-quality coffee to donate to the YWCA Emergency Shelter for women and children in Fargo, which is a wonderful treat for residents of the shelter.  Any coffee, tea, or product from the Caribou Coffee location can be purchased and put in the basket, but individuals wanting to participate are encouraged to buy Amy’s Blend coffee to donate; two great causes will be helped with one purchase.

If you’re a coffee lover, stop by the Caribou Coffee in the Osgood Hornbacher’s today and get a pick-me-up for yourself and a pound of Amy’s Blend to donate!  (Plus, they have a half-off Happy Hour special every day from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. — the perfect time to stop by and make a purchase.)

A big thank you goes out to manager Jackie Terfehr and her team at the Caribou Coffee in the Osgood Hornbacher’s, as well as everyone donating and participating in this donation drive for the month of October.  As always, we are so grateful for your support, and are continually amazed at what a great and giving community Fargo-Moorhead is.
