Thanks to the enthusiasm of the Fargo-Moorhead community, we’ve reached the halfway mark of our goal for the Purple Purse campaign. As of yesterday, The YWCA Cass Clay was at a total of $7,450 raised! We are amazed, impressed, and grateful at how many members of the community have been passing the purses and checking them in online, and how quickly we’ve reached the halfway point.
The campaign has also been an impactful way to spread awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the YWCA’s Week Without Violence. If you’d like more resources to spark conversations around domestic violence or to get more information, the YWCA website and PurplePurse.com both have great informational materials and infographics.
To everyone who has helped by passing the purple purse and raising awareness, thank you so much. Now our sights are set on reaching our end goal of $15,000 by the end of the week…and we still need your help. Remember, you can keep checking in the purse code online and sharing the video and purse code with your family and friends!
If you haven’t seen the campaign video we launched this week, check out our blog post from Monday to see local celebrities and community leaders passing the purple purse and to see how you can help.
The video is on our Facebook page as well, where you can also share your purple purse photos and see photos of where the purple purses have been. When you visit our Facebook page, be sure to share the “I passed the purse” virtual sticker (pictured below) with your friends; when you share the sticker, you’re helping raise awareness about the campaign and your commitment to ending the cycle of abuse.
Thank you again for your support. Let’s keep passing it on to raise awareness and help end domestic violence.
